Susu

Assistant Go-to-Market Manager. 985 undergraduate, a master’s degree from Australia. I thought I had done the right thing at the right time, and life would work out fine. Management Trainee, global GTM team. Every step went well. Until Jakarta. The man who pulled me out of the sea was a neurologist. But what came after, the hallucinations, the levitation, had no medical explanation. And my life I’d been holding so tightly began, slowly, to loosen. I don’t know if the Seed Syndrome can be cured. But like Pan said: write it down. So here it is, at least the parts I’m ready to share. Thank you all who turned this little diary into an animation project. I can’t wait to see what we’ve made!

Pan NEO

Neurologist. The son of Totok and Sundanese. I trained at the University of Indonesia, completed a Fellowship in Neuromuscular Diseases at the National University of Singapore. When I meet Susu, her symptoms made me feel like I was watching something spread quietly through our generation. But her courage drew me in. Finally, we didn’t become seeds. If miracles still exist, perhaps they look like this: reaching for each other after we’ve made a mess of things, and choosing to keep our feet on the ground. I believe we are saved by telling our stories. When Susu asked about bringing this to the screen? Sure! Yiyi’s team made it possible, and I’m grateful. I hope it reaches whoever needs it most.

The Arcane

It bred from collective despair. It preys upon the bankruptcy of grand narratives, tempting the disillusioned to abandon their heavy body from gravity: since the world is destined to falls apart, all would ultimately return to nothingness. Its vision was seductive: become a seed, and receive eternal peace, free from a collapsing reality and a canceled future.
